Gym Review: John Reed Fitness (Dallas,Tx)

I love checking out gyms and at the moment I’m in the search of a new home gym in the are close to me so this is what I am looking for:

• vibe: I want to feel welcomed

• aesthetically pleasing: I want to be cute for pictures

• camera friendly: I want to know it’s okay to record

• equipment: has to be 5’3 friendly and enough for when it’s packed

Price: I am looking for something between $80-$150 but I want to know it’s worth the price. My reasoning for the price is because it means not a lot people have that member ship, the facility is clean, usually comes with good amenities such as a sauna

John Reed Fitness Review: 6/10

Vibe: 3/10

Aesthetic: 10/10

Camera Friendly: 10/10

Equipment: 6/10

Price: 7/10

I went on a Saturday at 11am

- they had good music but the ambience/vibe was not it (FOR ME). I would smile at people I would make eye contact with and they would roll their eyes (LOL) and people don’t ask if you’re using something they will just get in your space which is something I am not used to

- the aesthetic is THERE, great for pictures and a lot of people had tripods or using their phones

- equipment was good, they had a very good variety BUT everything was too close together and placed weird. I made so much eye contact with people while doing hip thrusts because of how weird some machines were placed….lol

Price: $120 for month to month | $100 contract

I gave it a 7/10 because the only amenity is you get a towel, and 12 guest passes but only if you do the contract not the month to month

JOHN REED Fitness
2023/4/2 Edited to

... Read moreAfter my initial visit, I've had more time to reflect on what makes John Reed Fitness in Dallas truly stand out—or fall short—for different types of gym-goers. Many people search for specific details like 'john reed fitness cost' or 'does john reed have a sauna,' so I wanted to share a deeper dive into these aspects based on my experience. First, let's talk about the cost and what you actually get. My visit confirmed the price points: around $120 for month-to-month, or $100 with a contract. When you're looking at 'how much is john reed fitness per month,' these numbers are definitely on the higher end for Dallas gyms. My expectation when paying this much is usually for premium amenities. The original article mentioned only a towel service and guest passes (only with a contract). This left me wondering, and probably many of you too, 'does John Reed have a sauna?' Unfortunately, based on my observations and what was offered, a sauna or steam room wasn't part of the standard amenities for members. This was a bit of a letdown, as many other gyms in a similar price range often include these wellness options. If a sauna is a deal-breaker for you, it's definitely something to consider before signing up. Beyond the basic amenities, I noticed the gym's focus on its unique atmosphere. The 'SHORT FOR BORING GYMS' sign outside truly sets the tone. Inside, the 'neon lighting' and artistic installations, like the human-shaped sculpture and the blue neon sign proclaiming 'It's not a place. It's a feeling,' certainly create a distinctive aesthetic. It’s undeniably 'camera friendly' and 'great for pictures,' as I mentioned. However, this also contributes to the overall 'vibe.' While the aesthetic is a 10/10, making it one of the most visually striking 'john reed fitness dallas photos' you'll find, the social atmosphere felt less welcoming to me. The article touched on people rolling their eyes or getting into personal space. This might be a consequence of the gym attracting a crowd that's very focused on their own routine or perhaps on capturing content, sometimes at the expense of general gym etiquette. If you thrive in a buzzing, social environment where people are openly friendly, this might not be your ideal fit, despite the cool decor. Regarding equipment, the variety is genuinely good. You'll find everything from free weights suitable for heavy lifting to cardio machines like 'exercise bikes' that are plentiful. I also saw 'leg presses' and other specialized machines, making it suitable for a full-body workout. However, the 'equipment was too close together and placed weird' observation really stuck with me. This isn't just about personal preference; it can sometimes impact the fluidity of your workout, especially during peak hours. Some areas, like around the unique 'skull decoration' near a fireplace in one of the workout rooms, felt very cramped. It definitely requires a bit of maneuvering and patience. So, who is John Reed Fitness Dallas for? If you prioritize a cutting-edge, visually stunning gym for your workouts, love taking photos or videos, and don't mind a less overtly social atmosphere, then this gym might appeal to you. It's a place where aesthetics meet functionality, albeit with some spatial compromises. If you're looking for a more traditional gym experience with extensive spa-like amenities such as saunas, or a very friendly, community-oriented vibe, you might want to explore other 'dallas gyms' before committing to 'john reed fitness.' It’s a unique experience, but it’s definitely not for everyone, and knowing these details can help you make an informed decision about the 'john reed gym price' and whether it aligns with your fitness goals and preferences.

Weightlifting makes you look manly?
Nope! Not even close. First off, having muscles doesn’t equate to looking like a man because not every man is muscular. Second, the average woman would be HARD PRESSED to look very muscular because of the little testosterone we have. Even if we exercise, eat healthy, and have an active life
