i used to think the transformation was the 90lbs.

like one day i’d hit a number and suddenly feel confident, happy, enough.

but that’s NOT how it happened.

the weight came off… and i was still me.

Still learning.

still picking myself apart some days.

still thinking happiness was waiting somewhere “after.”

what actually changed everything wasn’t my body… it was how i started treating her.

i started listening instead of punishing. moving because i could, not because i had to. speaking to myself a little softer. giving myself grace on the days i didn’t feel my best.

and somewhere along the way, that became the real transformation.

not smaller… but more at peace.

not perfect… but more accepting.

90lbs later, the biggest thing i gained was a relationship with myself i don’t want to lose 🤍

3/24 Edited to

... Read moreFrom my experience, the real breakthrough in any weight loss journey isn't just about reaching a target number on the scale. After losing 90lbs, I realized that the biggest transformation was how I started to treat myself differently. Instead of focusing on punishment through strict diets or exhausting workouts, I began listening to my body’s needs and moving in ways that felt good. This shift in mindset helped me develop a softer, more compassionate inner dialogue. One of the hardest lessons was understanding that happiness and confidence don’t automatically arrive once you hit a goal weight. In fact, I continued to wrestle with insecurities and self-doubt even after shedding the pounds. What changed everything was embracing self-love and giving myself permission to have off days without judgment. This created a foundation of peace and acceptance that was far more meaningful than any physical change. Practicing patience and self-forgiveness became essential parts of my routine. I learned to appreciate my body for its strength and resilience, rather than solely its appearance. This mental and emotional shift empowered me to maintain healthy habits not out of discipline alone, but because I genuinely wanted to care for myself. If you’re on a similar path, remember that transformation is a journey, not a destination. Celebrate the progress in how you connect with yourself, and know that true happiness stems from kindness and respect toward your own body and mind. This approach not only supports sustainable change but also builds a loving relationship with yourself that lasts a lifetime.

That's awesome. I'm trying to learn to love myself. The weight needs to go, but I realized that I self sabotage and I guess I'm afraid of success. I just don't know to deal with it so I can be at peace and be healthy.
