Hustle culture is not for everyone

4/22 Edited to

... Read moreAs someone who once believed in the relentless grind of hustle culture, I can personally attest to how damaging this mindset can be, especially for women. Many of us hear phrases like "you just need more discipline" or "if you're tired, you're not wanting it enough," but these ideas overlook our biology entirely. Fatigue isn't a sign of weakness or failure; it's a natural biological signal that our bodies need care and recovery. From my experience, pushing through discomfort often led to burnout rather than growth. I learned that chronic stress triggers our nervous system to stay in a survival mode, which is harmful in the long run. True progress comes when we listen to our bodies and adopt regulated rhythms—moving slower but more effectively. Implementing personal regulation changed my productivity and overall well-being. It’s not about working harder or longer, but about creating a safe internal environment where energy is replenished. Tools like grounding apps helped me shift focus from endless hustle to mindful action. If you’ve believed any of the common hustle culture myths, I encourage you to reconsider. Rest isn’t something you earn; it’s an essential part of maintaining your health and success. By honoring your nervous system’s needs, you build sustainable strength and achieve more meaningful personal and professional growth.
