How to Spend a Week in Spain 🇪🇸

Spain is one of my favorite countries that I’ve visited! It is such a fun place to explore and has so much to see and do. This is the itinerary I followed on my trip when I recently visited and I hope this gives you some inspiration for your own trip to Spain! Here are some tips you should know for your Spain trip too:

🇪🇸 Remember siestas! Shops and restaurants close from 2-4pm, so be sure to plan activities with that in mind

🇪🇸 Visit more than just the big cities, Barcelona is a great city but there are also amazing smaller towns to explore like Córdoba , Alicante , Granada , etc

🇪🇸 Spain has amazing food so be sure to try new dishes and take advantage of the fresh seafood and meat too

🇪🇸 Spain is a great road trip destination and I recommend renting a car to explore more

... Read moreIf you’re planning a week-long trip to Spain, one great way to experience the country is with a well-structured itinerary that blends major cities and hidden gems. I found that starting in Barcelona is perfect for immersing yourself in vibrant city life with iconic spots like Las Ramblas and the breathtaking Sagrada Familia. Don’t miss trying classic churros and authentic paella! After a few days, I recommend flying to Seville to soak in southern Spain’s rich culture. Exploring Plaza de España and the Royal Alcázar palace gave me a true taste of Andalusian history. A day trip to nearby Córdoba, with its remarkable Spanish castle, adds even more depth to your journey. Car lovers will enjoy renting a car to roam between towns, beaches, and even a day trip to Gibraltar, where the mix of culture and coastal views is simply stunning. Just remember to schedule activities around the traditional Spanish siesta hours (2-4pm), as many shops and eateries close during this time. In terms of food, Spain’s fresh seafood and meats are a highlight, so be adventurous with local dishes and especially enjoy the lively tapas culture in the evenings. This itinerary balances sightseeing with relaxing moments, giving anyone a memorable one-week Spanish vacation.
