4 Gua Sha Zones for Period, Bloating & Calm Mood

4 targeted gua sha spots for common daily discomforts. Scrape here to experience a smoother menstrual cycle, reduce bloating and water weight from trapped fluid, fade dark circles by supporting kidney energy, and feel less irritable by relaxing liver stagnation — all with a simple at-home routine.

... Read moreIn my experience incorporating gua sha into my self-care routine, focusing on specific pressure points can genuinely make a difference in managing common discomforts. For instance, applying gentle scraping on the Sanyinjiao (SP6) point, located on the inner leg above the ankle, often helps in smoothing out menstrual flow and alleviating cramps. This spot is well-known in traditional Chinese medicine for its influence on women's health. I also found massaging the area along the Spleen Meridian particularly effective in reducing bloating. This meridian runs along the inner side of the leg and is crucial for digestion and fluid metabolism. Regular gua sha here seems to help release trapped fluids, resulting in less water retention and a lighter feeling overall. Another area I focus on is the Kidney Meridian, which is associated with revitalizing kidney energy. By gently scraping this zone near the lower back or inner ankle, you can help fade dark circles and boost overall vitality. Personally, I've noticed my under-eye area looking fresher after consistent practice. Lastly, addressing the Liver tendon area aids in emotional balance. The liver is closely tied to mood regulation in TCM, so relaxing this area can reduce feelings of irritability and promote calmness. Sometimes, when feeling stressed or angry, spending a few minutes with gua sha on the liver area can shift my mood noticeably. Integrating these four targeted gua sha zones into a daily routine has provided me a natural and holistic way to support my body through menstrual cycles, reduce discomfort from bloating, and maintain emotional balance. Plus, doing this at home with a simple tool makes self-care accessible and empowering.
