The ally energy is unmatched 👏

Let’s just say it like it is. Being a woman is hard. Being a woman entrepreneur is hard. Being a woman in tech is hard. Being a woman building a business in tech that also has product, based off of a community of women, built for women, is really hard. And we’re not doing things the traditional way.

It’s really easy for me to come on here and talk about how frustrating is to fight in a legacy industry built by men for women - aka the women’s diet industry. And how unfair it is that the system is literally in place for us to feel inadequate and stay small and shrink…..

But what I’ve learned especially over the past year is that two things can also be true at the same time.

All of those things I said ARE hard and a very true reality building this dream. It’s why having a network of other women entrepreneurs and founders continues to save me.

But one of the other things that has saved me is knowing that there are men allies all around me, cheering me on.

And I’m lucky enough to say it’s something I’ve been feeling deeply recently.

My husband @trevor_mengel has always been my biggest supporter and OUR biggest ally, so much so that he’s a fundamental part in building a product that changes this industry as my CTO.

But it’s not just him!! It’s the advisors I have around me, the coaches prepping me to go pitch (@ablumey in this clip 🔥), my management team fighting to protect me @andrews.ryanj & so many others. MINDFULL is women building for women (pretty much our entire team), but it’s very special watching these men lift me up and-cheer us on. And they have been showing up for this mission too.

It makes me really emotional. Because I have countless stories of being made to feel inadequate, laughed at dismissed and felt like crap by men telling me to stay small. This is a breath of fresh air.

So thank you to the men allies, who understand that healthier, happier, mothers, wives, daughters & friends will change the world. We deserve to be heard and we deserve to be lifted up, and I’m feeling that support deeply right now.
