Replying to @KJS Quarter Horse Congress is 44 days out and yesterday my pay-what-you-can flower stand made $35 — $27 on Venmo, $8 in cash. That takes my entry fee from $802 down to $767 left. Slow day, so today I'm cutting three more buckets and putting my signs back up on Saginaw Highway. They kee

Quarter horse and zinnias, black background. My favorite photos of all time ❤️💐
Quarter horse and zinnias on a black background — these are my favorite photos I have ever had taken. This is Beau. He's my American Quarter Horse and he's my whole heart. This is also my first year flower farming, which has been the hardest and best thing I've ever taken on. Getting to put the

Quarter Horse Congress is 46 days out and I'm funding the entire thing with flower money. I'm a DIY amateur - no trainer, no groom, no crew. I do my own everything. Entries alone were $859. Follow along and I'll show you every dollar it costs to get one horse to Congress and every bouquet I sell to

Quarter horse found his itchy spot and immediately lost control of his face. Beau is a 100% professional show horse right up until you scratch his withers, and then he's this. Sound on. #quarterhorse #funnyhorse #horsesoftiktok #equestrian #aqha

The monarchs hatching in Michigan right now are the ones that make the whole trip — nearly 3,000 miles to the oyamel fir forests in Michoacán. They live around eight months instead of the usual few weeks, purely to get there. Every generation before them lived and died within a few hundred miles of

Free, Dog Friendly, and Full of Fish: no one knows the secret garden hideaway at MSU
Dog friendly gardens in Lansing Michigan are harder to find than you’d think, so the MSU Radiology Healing Gardens has become our Friday thing. They do u pick flowers on Fridays and the whole place is open to leashed dogs, which is the part nobody seems to know about. Moon has opinions about the

Quarter horse meets flower farm ❤️ we cut 1,500 stems off the farm and did a full photo shoot with my American Quarter Horse. Content dropping all week. Photos credit @Jpikephoto which one you want first: flower crowns, the wedding dress, or the black background shots. #CapCut

Bridal bouquet made entirely from flowers grown in my backyard cut flower garden — first year flower farming. It’s lisianthus heavy because that’s what I have the most of, plus amaranthus, statice, eucalyptus, and a bunch of other backyard blooms. I even cut philodendron from my houseplants for gre

Moonflower (datura) opens at dusk, blooms for one single night, and smells unreal in the dark. Moonbeam opens at 6am, blooms constantly, and smells like a dog. One of them is also extremely toxic — every part of datura is, leaves, flowers and especially the seed pods, to dogs and people both. So

U pick flowers every Friday at the MSU Radiology Healing Gardens in East Lansing. Free dog friendly walk, a koi pond with waterfalls, and a full perennial garden behind the Radiology building. Took Moon this morning and we had most of it to ourselves. The ponds have koi, catfish, bass and bluegill.

Banana plants do not get enough attention, and mine are going nuts this summer. The collection tour: a Siam Ruby, a mini Cavendish, a red Ensete, and the variegated banana living its best life. Not bad for a backyard flower farm. Which one would you grow? #bananaplant #siamruby #tropicalgar

Ladybugs are the real MVP of my garden and I will not be taking questions. 🐞 A few things that made me a believer: 🐞 One adult eats around 50 aphids a day — roughly 5,000 in her lifetime. 🐞 The larvae eat MORE than the adults. They look like tiny black-and-orange alligators and most people s

Asters might be the most underrated flower on the farm. Growing three colors this year: a silvery one, a moody dark purple, and an apricot that barely looks real. They carry the cutting garden into late summer right when everything else starts giving up. If zinnias are the loud ones, asters are the
