😂🏠 MY HOMEBOY PULLED UP… AND I got a "free" lunch
But he still owes me $60.00!
My homeboy saw one of my posts and decided to stop by and kick it. We’re the same age, so naturally, after about 15 minutes of catching up, the conversation somehow turned into dating, relationships, and the foolishness we voluntarily sign up for. 😂
He told me he’s actively dating and seeing somebody, but there’s one problem: “She’s stuck in her ways.” I looked at him like, “Bruh… welcome to adulthood.” 😂 I told him, “At this point in our lives, you’re probably not going to find somebody who checks every box. And honestly, you shouldn’t be looking for somebody you can completely redesign.”
Learn to compromise. There’s a difference between compromising and compromising your values. Don’t overlook red flags, character issues, or behavior that violates your convictions. But if you’re arguing because she folds towels differently, she loads the dishwasher wrong, or she refuses to eat at the restaurant you picked… THAT AIN’T A SPIRITUAL BATTLE. 😂
Look for somebody with a good heart. Because let’s be honest: changing YOURSELF is already hard enough. You can know exactly what you need to change and still spend six months negotiating with yourself about it. 😂 So what makes us think we can successfully remodel another grown adult?
The Bible reminds us that God looks at the heart (1 Samuel 16:7). Character matters more than perfection. You don’t need somebody perfect. You need somebody honest, loving, teachable, willing to grow, and humble enough to meet you halfway.
Because dating isn’t about two perfect people finding each other. It’s two imperfect people deciding, with God’s help, to grow together. And please… stop dating people for their “potential.” You ain’t Jesus. 😂🙏🏾 You’re looking for a partner, not a renovation project.
