how i shipped my taobao furniture

My taobaon 3rd party forwarder is recommended by R & M on tiktok. They provided a rather comprehensive guide and I’m just here to share my experience!

It was relatively cheaper than the other forwarders such as letaotao so I decided to give it a try! They deliver on Sat too which is a major plus point 👍🏼

**Just a heads-up! Uncrating by the workers isn’t an official service they offer. When they delivered our goods, they asked if we wanted uncrating for an extra fee. If they have back-to-back deliveries, they might not be able to provide this service at all. So, don’t assume it’s included or guaranteed!

If you're planning to ship furniture from Taobao to Singapore, using a third-party forwarder (3PF) can be a cost-effective and reliable option. From my experience, communicating clearly with the forwarder via WeChat before placing orders is essential. They usually provide you with a warehouse address and a unique code to include when ordering from Taobao. This step simplifies the consolidation and shipment process. Be aware that shipping fees often exclude GST, which can add roughly 8% on top of your total charges depending on your shipment volume. My shipment of 1.41 cbm cost 591 RMB (about $110), excluding GST. Delivery scheduling is another factor to consider; some forwarders offer Saturday delivery, which offers flexibility if you prefer weekend timings. Regarding uncrating services, these are usually not included by default and may cost extra—as in my case, workers offered uncrating for $30. If your order contains fragile or heavy items like vanity cabinets or lighting fixtures, it is wise to handle uncrating carefully. Items like tiles need protection during the uncrating process to avoid damage. Consider having a broom and dustpan ready to clean foam and wood debris left behind. Lastly, expect the process from dispatch to delivery to take about two weeks, though this may vary. Choosing a forwarder recommended by trusted sources, like TikTok creators or experienced shoppers, can help you avoid hassles and ensure that your Taobao furniture arrives safely and promptly to your Singapore home.
