I dare say this is the best
Ever since I moved to the east, I've been buying this fish soup almost everyday for lunch and dinner. A little background, it used to be an older uncle selling (this guy-in-the-picture's dad) and my mom frequent his fish soup store since a few years ago. It is now his son taking over and man, he is really good at what he does.
So here's a little story. Meet Derrick, the current fish soup owner. He used to suffer from heart issues and wasn't in the best shape during his younger days. Since the last health scare, he has decided to take his health seriously. When i tell you he's good at what he does, it really is an understatement. Derrick makes his own vinegar and soy sauce (what!!?). He has a WIDE variety of condiments, just look at the number of food containers in the front. From pickled radish/carrots to chilli soy sauce lime, corriander dried shrimp (haebi) soy sauce w vinegar, tumeric chilli, cucumber/onion sesame oil and a lot more ALL FREE FLOW. I see people bringing their own take out boxes just to contain his condiments and he just tells them to take as much as they can.
He has a few combinations of soup, fish+meat, seafood+meat, only veg or only fish. Each set comes with 3 types of veg you can select when you order. His seafood and meat are SO FRESH, believe me when i say because i'm serious about my food. His seafood set costs like $13 and there are 2- 3 prawns, clams, thick fish slices, minced meat and a variety of veg. His fish slices taste almost like chicken, in an AMAZING way. Super tender and thick unlike any other fish soup stalls with miserable amount of fish slices to the extend they count them. Derrick also sells other things besides fish soup. He has toasted walnuts with celtic salt, he has fried garlic in lard that he sells in jars, 3 to 4 different soup stocks (mushroom, seafood, tomato and vegetable) for you to cook at home and other things I have yet to find out haha. I have overheard many conversations about people commenting on how his soup helped them with many things like constipation, energy levels, cholesterol levels and cancer stories (his waiting time can be long because he is mostly alone so it gave me time to listen to conversations of people in front of me) 😅
If you are conscious about your health, you should definitely try this. As the sign says, NO MSG, it really is just real food.
