Now what if it was actually vanilla ice cream, covered in crunchy ice cream cone and filled with little bits of chocolate? 😋
These Fried Chicken Ice Creams were found at Vons for $11.99!!! That's right, just three chicken drummies for $12! 🫣
Upon opening them, instant joy! It was so much fun opening ice cream that looked like fried chicken! These would be great for pranking others!!
First impression? It tasted so good! The vanilla ice cream is one of the best I have ever had, and I have always been a vanilla over chocolate person. It was also very creamy and smooth! The outside crunch part tasted like ice cream cone to me! Inside the ice cream was a little chocolate stick to represent a bone! 🙂↔️
The chocolate "bone" was tiny, and throughout the ice cream were even tinier bits that you wouldn't notice if you weren't looking.
The ice cream didn't have a stick or cone, so you do have to pick it up and eat it like chicken as well and the outside crunches do crumble off.
My overall rating was an 8 out of 10. The idea of fried chicken ice cream is so fun and the ice cream itself was good! 🍗🍗🍗
I docked points for the pricing, the lacking chocolate bits, and the messyness - no cone, or stick and lots of crumbs!
... Read moreIf you're curious about novel dessert trends, Fried Chicken Ice Cream is a unique mashup that adds a playful spin to classic treats. I recently tried it myself, and what stood out was the creativity behind replicating the look of fried chicken with ice cream. The vanilla ice cream inside was impressively smooth and flavorful, far exceeding my expectations for a novelty snack.
However, since these treats don't come on a traditional cone or stick, eating them can be a little messy—crumbly bits from the crunchy exterior tend to fall off, so I recommend enjoying them over a plate or napkins handy. The tiny chocolate "bone" in the center adds a clever touch, but I wished there were more chocolate bits throughout for better textural contrast.
From a value perspective, the price of roughly $4 per piece feels a bit steep for an ice cream snack, especially since it's marketed as a fun, viral item rather than a premium dessert. Still, the joy of sharing these quirky ice creams with friends—especially as a prank where they expect fried chicken but get creamy sweetness instead—makes it worth it for a special occasion.
Aside from taste and novelty, I also considered nutrition as these treats contain multiple allergens and are definitely indulgent. For those interested in trying something offbeat at grocery stores or specialty shops, Fried Chicken Ice Cream is a memorable option that blends the unexpected with genuinely good vanilla flavor.
If you want to impress or amuse your foodie friends, these ice creams can be a playful dessert choice. Just prepare for the crumbly exterior and savor the smooth ice cream inside. Would you try this viral Fried Chicken Ice Cream prank-treat? It's definitely a fun, sweet surprise to add to any dessert lineup.
these seem... GNARLY 💚
