Puff pastry
not even gonna lie… I made these “just to try them” and ended up standing in the kitchen eating like three straight off the pan 😭✨ they’re THAT good
flaky, cheesy, a little salty, and honestly feel way fancier than they actually are (which is my favorite kind of recipe)
perfect for parties, game day, or just a random snack moment when you want something warm & cozy 💛
🛒 ingredients:
1 sheet puff pastry (thawed)
6–8 hot dogs (I used beef)
4–6 slices cheddar cheese (or any melty cheese)
1 egg (for egg wash)
everything bagel seasoning (optional but SO good)
👩🍳 directions:
preheat oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper
roll out puff pastry slightly and cut into strips or triangles
add a small piece of cheese, then place the hot dog on top
wrap the pastry around the hot dog (doesn’t have to be perfect—rustic is cute)
place on baking sheet, brush with egg wash
sprinkle with everything seasoning
bake for 15–20 minutes until golden brown and flaky
✨ tips & tricks:
don’t overstuff with cheese or it’ll melt out (learned the hard way lol)
chill them for 10 minutes before baking if your pastry gets too soft
try different cheeses (pepper jack = 🔥)
serve with honey mustard, ketchup, or even spicy mayo
these disappear FAST every time I make them… like don’t expect leftovers 😂

I recently tried making puff pastry pigs in a blanket following this recipe, and I have to say, it’s one of the best quick snacks I’ve made at home. The combination of flaky puff pastry and melty cheese wrapped around beef hot dogs is incredibly satisfying and surprisingly easy to prepare. One tip I found helpful was to lightly chill the wrapped pastries before they go into the oven. This keeps the puff pastry firm and helps it bake into a crisp, golden brown rather than getting too soft and soggy. Another trick I learned is to experiment with different cheeses—adding pepper jack gave a delightful spicy twist that really enhanced the flavor profile. I also sprinkled everything bagel seasoning on top, which added a wonderful savory crunch that elevated the taste and made the snacks stand out. For dipping, my favorites were honey mustard and a homemade spicy mayo, which complemented the salty and cheesy flavors perfectly. This recipe is fantastic for any casual gathering, whether it’s game day or just a cozy night in. Because they disappear fast, it’s a good idea to make a double batch if you’re feeding a crowd. Plus, the rustic wrapping style means you don’t have to worry too much about appearances—homemade charm with minimal effort! If you're looking for a fast, crowd-pleasing appetizer or snack, this puff pastry pigs in a blanket recipe is a go-to. The ingredients are simple, and the baking time is short, making it easy to whip up even on a busy day. It’s become a regular in my kitchen, especially when I want something warm, cheesy, and comforting with very little hassle.

Puff pastry pigs in a blanket sound so good. Flaky, buttery, and perfect as a snack or party appetizer. 🥐✨
