Bateman's the home of Rudyard Kipling

The house is beautiful outside and very interesting to look at when inside but the inside to me felt quite dark and oppressive. It did not feel light and airy like Polesden Lacey. In the library/study it still smelled faintly of tobacco from the many hours he smoked there. #nationaltrust #rudyar
