Read more「ベランダでバジルを育ててるとゴキブリが来るのでは…」って不安、私もありました。結論から言うと、バジル自体がゴキブリを強く呼ぶというより、“ベランダの環境”がエサ場・隠れ家っぽくなると寄ってきやすい印象です。なので、ハーブを守るついでにベランダ環境も整えるのがいちばん効きました。 まず見直したのはプランター周り。ダークグレーのプランターボックスみたいに底がしっかりしている容器でも、受け皿に水が溜まると湿気が出やすいので、私は「朝だけ水やり+受け皿に溜まった水は捨てる」を徹底しました。夜に濡れっぱなしだと、ナメクジや小虫も増えやすくて結果的に“虫が集まる場所”になりがちです。 次に、落ち葉・枯れ葉・土こぼれの掃除。バジルの下葉が黄ばんで落ちると、気づかないうちにプランターの縁や床に溜まります。これが湿るとコバエ系も出やすいので、私はベランダ用サンダルで出たついでに「枯れ葉を取る→床をサッと掃く」を習慣化。たったこれだけでも“虫が長居しにくい”感じになりました。 ゴキブリ対策として意外と大事だったのが「置き場所」。壁際の暗い角にぎゅっと寄せると隠れやすいので、できる範囲で風通しの良い場所に移動。プランター同士を密着させず、少し隙間を作ると蒸れにくく、葉の病気予防にもつながりました。 そして、ハーブ自体の害虫ケア。私は去年虫で失敗したので、今回は食品成分由来で化学殺虫成分不使用タイプの殺虫殺菌スプレー(ベニカマイルドスプレー)を使いました。収穫前日まで使えるのが本当に助かります。散布するときは、葉の表だけじゃなく裏側にも軽く。アブラムシやハダニっぽいトラブルは裏に付きやすいです。 最後に、もし「虫が気になるから」と強い香りのものを置きたくなる場合も、食べるハーブは特に“使える資材かどうか”を確認するのがおすすめです。私は「食用OK・オーガニック栽培で使用可能」と書かれているものを選ぶと安心できました。 ベランダ菜園は、バジルが青々としてくると気分も上がるので、害虫対策は“面倒な作業”より“毎日ちょっと整える”くらいが続きます。小さな習慣で、ゴキブリ含め虫が寄りにくい環境に近づけました。

Nope, the answer is not a Venus Flytrap (though mine is a champ bug catcher). It’s much simpler than that. I’ve added yellow sticky traps around my container plants to control flying pests like fungus gnats, fruit flies, and tiny flies. These traps are non-toxic, odorless, waterproof, and UV resist
