Fevers with Autoimmune?

Recent research has shed light on the connection between mouth infections, autoimmune diseases, and even old root canals. The human mouth is full of bacteria, both beneficial and harmful. When harmful bacteria take over, they can cause infections, such as gum disease or dental abscesses. These infections can release toxins and trigger the body's immune response, leading to inflammation. Autoimmune diseases occur when the immune system mistakenly attacks healthy tissues in the body. Research suggests that chronic inflammation caused by oral infections can contribute to the development or exacerbation of autoimmune diseases. The link between the two lies in the body's inflammatory response, which can become overactive when oral infections persist.

Old root canals are often a concern. A root canal is a dental procedure used to treat a severely infected tooth by removing the pulp and sealing the root canal. However, over time, bacteria can potentially re-infect the treated tooth, leading to a low-grade, chronic infection. This lingering infection can serve as a continuous source of inflammation in the body, possibly contributing to autoimmune conditions.

Sinus infections, or sinusitis, can also be linked to oral health issues. The sinuses are closely connected to the oral cavity, and infections can spread from the mouth to the sinuses or vice versa. Chronic sinusitis, characterized by recurring infections, can lead to ongoing inflammation and, in some cases, may be associated with autoimmune conditions.

Maintaining good oral health is a crucial step in preserving overall well-being, as the connection between mouth infections, autoimmune diseases, and old root canals becomes increasingly evident.

... Read moreI remember feeling so frustrated with my recurring canker sores. They weren't just painful; they felt like a sign that something deeper was going on, especially with my autoimmune symptoms flaring up around the same time. The original article really resonated with me, highlighting how crucial our oral health is and how seemingly small mouth infections can have a ripple effect on our entire body, contributing to or even worsening autoimmune conditions. It's not just gum disease or dental abscesses, as the article mentions. For anyone dealing with chronic canker sores and an autoimmune diagnosis, it's worth exploring the connection. I learned that these pesky ulcers, known medically as aphthous stomatitis, aren’t always just from biting your cheek or stress. Sometimes, they can be a significant symptom of an underlying autoimmune disease or a sign that your immune system is overwhelmed. Imagine experiencing 'FEVERS WITH NO INFECTION?' - I've been there, and often it felt like 'IT MIGHT BE THIS...' internal inflammation manifesting in various ways, including in my mouth. The article talks about how 'SOME MOUTH INFECTIONS' can serve as a 'CORE MECHANISM' for chronic inflammation. I started to understand that constant inflammation, whether from a hidden dental issue or even recurring canker sores, keeps the immune system on high alert. This constant battle can make it harder for your body to manage existing autoimmune conditions like Celiac disease, Lupus, or Rheumatoid Arthritis, where inflammation is already a key player. For example, conditions like Celiac disease often present with oral manifestations, including recurring canker sores, even before gut symptoms become prominent. Similarly, inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD) like Crohn's can have oral ulcers as a symptom. What caught my attention in the original piece was the discussion around 'OLD ROOT CANALS' and other 'STRUCTURAL THINGS' in our dental history. It made me wonder if some of my past dental work could be contributing to 'ONGOING CHRONIC INFECTIONS' that I weren't even aware of. It's a reminder that 'THE TEETH ARE SO IMPORTANT' and deserve thorough investigation if you're experiencing mysterious symptoms. A low-grade infection from a compromised root canal might not cause acute pain but could be silently fueling systemic inflammation, which is a big concern for autoimmune sufferers. So, what can we do? If you're experiencing chronic canker sores alongside your autoimmune journey, don't just dismiss them. I started keeping a detailed log of my symptoms – when the canker sores appeared, how long they lasted, and what other symptoms (like those unexplained 'FEVERS POP UP' moments) were present. This information was incredibly helpful when talking to my doctor and dentist. It's vital to discuss these persistent oral issues with your healthcare providers. They might suggest further investigations into nutritional deficiencies (like B12, iron, folate), allergies, or testing for specific autoimmune markers. Ensuring impeccable oral hygiene, managing stress, and sometimes dietary changes can also make a big difference. It's about looking at our health holistically and understanding that our mouth is truly a gateway to our overall health, especially when battling autoimmune challenges.
