How to save when in Barcelona

This city has a special place in my heart 💙 I’d like to spend couple months in Barcelona at some point because 3 days or even a month isn’t enough 🙈

Today sharing couple of ways to save some $$ while visiting this amazing Spanish city 😉

Let’s start:

📌 in the metro, you can buy a ticket for 10 trips - called T10 - which can be used on the bus and metro for any number of people. It turns out to be profitable: such a ticket costs 10.30€ and one-time trip - 2.20€

📌 Some museums are free of charge on Thursdays after 7pm and on first Sunday of a month (including the Picasso Museum, Barcelona History Museum and others)

📌 from the airport, you can order a transfer to a hotel on Expedia, for example. Convenient and price was reasonable, but finding their counter at the airport might be tricky

📌 avoid all cafes on La Rambla, designed exclusively for tourists - they charge a lot, but quality of food is very questionable 🤨

📌 It makes sense to pay a little extra for a hotel in a good area, this way you can walk to most must see places and save on transportation 🙈

📌 look out for free events in Barcelona. Especially during summer some free events are always happening from free movies to live jazz or street parties 😎

If you have something to add - let me know in the comments! 🙏🏻☺️

... Read moreBarcelona is a vibrant city known for its stunning architecture, delicious cuisine, and rich culture. To make the most of your visit without breaking the bank, consider these additional tips. First, explore local markets like Mercat de Sant Josep de la Boqueria for affordable yet authentic meals. Buy fresh produce, local cheeses, and tapas to enjoy a picnic in one of the city's parks. Additionally, take advantage of walking tours that don’t charge a fee—many tour companies operate on a tips-only basis, allowing you to pay what you can afford. For accommodations, look for hostels or Airbnb options in less touristy neighborhoods, which can provide a more local feel at lower prices. Don’t forget to prioritize free attractions, like Park Güell and the beach, where you can soak up the sun without the cost. For those who love art, many galleries and exhibitions offer free entry on certain days, a great way to enrich your trip without the expense. Lastly, keep an eye on local forums and community boards for upcoming free festivals and events that celebrate the local culture. By blending these strategies with your travel plans, you can experience all that Barcelona has to offer without overspending.
