Tips for Budget Travel to Switzerland: Part 1 🇨🇭💰

After doing my research on Switzerland, I have seen it can be one of the most expensive destinations to visit in the WORLD! However, after carefully considering budget considerations- I found so many ways to budget travel in Switzerland. Here is my new series👇🏽 Switzerland

Part 1:

GROCERY SHOP AT LIDL Lidl Schweiz

This grocery store is AMAZING for budget travelers. You can get warm meals and sandwiches for under 5 Swiss Francs!!! I have seen travelers spend easily 50-100 USD per meal in Switzerland and not being satisfied with their purchase.

This is a great alternative to focus your money on experiences and still have good food in the process.

We were able to get two meals (chicken nuggets), chips, body wash, tooth paste, apple juice, water, ketchup, and fruit all for 21 Swiss Francs 🤯

Would you use this budget travel tip on your future trip to Switzerland?

... Read moreTraveling to Switzerland can be an incredible experience, but its reputation for being expensive often discourages budget-conscious explorers. However, with a few strategic tips, you can enjoy all that this beautiful destination offers without sacrificing your wallet. One effective way to save money on food is by shopping at local grocery stores. Lidl, for example, provides affordable meal options that help travelers avoid the high prices of restaurants. Hot meals and sandwiches are available for under 5 Swiss Francs, offering an excellent alternative to traditional dining, where one can easily spend 50-100 USD per meal without much satisfaction. In addition to Lidl, other grocery chains in Switzerland also offer reasonable prices, especially for snacks and drinks that you can take on the go. Buying fresh fruits and pre-packaged snacks not only assists in saving money but also provides a chance to enjoy local tastes. Consider meal prepping or packing lunches for day trips around stunning Swiss landscapes, which can lead to even more savings. Moreover, exploring community markets and local food festivals can give you an authentic taste of Swiss cuisine at lower prices. Engaging with locals can also lead to discovering hidden gems for dining that offer great meals at value prices. Lastly, don’t forget about utilizing discounts available for tourists, including transport passes and entry fees to attractions. These can further help you stretch your budget, allowing you to focus on experiences rather than expenses. Overall, with some planning and budget-friendly choices, traveling through Switzerland can be enjoyable and financially manageable.
