Motivation: grwm to hit the gym 💪🏽
Finally back at the gym again 🏋🏽♀️ #gymhairstyles #gymhair #gym #motivation
Getting back into the gym routine after a break can feel like a monumental task, right? I totally get it. That initial slump is real, but I've found that having a solid 'Get Ready With Me' (GRWM) routine for the gym makes all the difference. It's not just about throwing on clothes; it's about building momentum and setting yourself up for a successful workout. For me, it all starts the night before. I try to lay out my gym clothes – comfortable leggings, a breathable top, and my trusty sports bra. This eliminates any morning decision-making and makes slipping into my workout gear effortless. I also make sure my water bottle is clean and ready to be filled, and my headphones are charged. These small steps create a visual cue that the gym is happening. In the morning, my GRWM for the gym is a ritual. First, I tackle my hair. Nobody wants hair in their face while doing burpees! I usually opt for a high ponytail or a secure bun. Sometimes, if I’m feeling fancy or want to keep my hair off my neck, I'll do a quick braid. It's all about keeping it practical and out of the way so I can focus purely on my workout. Hydration is key, so I'll chug a glass of water, and if I need a little energy boost, a banana or a small handful of nuts works wonders without feeling heavy. Then comes the mental prep. While I'm putting on my sneakers, I'll put on my favorite high-energy playlist. Music is a game-changer for my motivation. It helps me shift my mindset from 'I have to go' to 'I want to go.' I also take a moment to visualize my workout – maybe a new personal best, or just pushing through those last few reps. This mental rehearsal really helps in making me feel prepared and excited. Packing my gym bag becomes part of the routine too. Besides the essentials like a towel and water, I always pack a hair tie (or two!) because you never know when one might snap. A small post-workout snack like a protein bar or some fruit is also a must for refuelling quickly. Sometimes, a travel-sized dry shampoo can be a lifesaver for a quick refresh before heading to work or errands. What I've learned is that this GRWM process isn't just about getting physically ready; it's about mentally committing to yourself and your health goals. It transforms the idea of 'going to the gym' from a chore into an anticipated part of my day. If you're struggling to get back into it, try creating your own little GRWM routine. You might be surprised at how much easier it makes hitting the gym consistently. It truly makes a difference in making that 'finally back at the gym' feeling a regular, empowering reality!
