The 4 Phases of the Menstrual Cycle

Your period is only one part of a powerful 4-phase cycle your body goes through every month — and when you learn to understand it, your whole life starts to flow better 💫

Here’s what actually happens in each phase, and how to support your mind, body, mood, food, & fitness along the way 👇

🩸 Menstrual Phase (Days 1–5)

Hormones are at their lowest, your uterine lining is shedding, and your energy is likely dipping. This is your time to rest + reflect 💤

🔹 Cravings? Totally normal.

🔹 Tip: Eat iron-rich, warming foods and move gently (stretching, walking, yoga).

🌱 Follicular Phase (Days 6–13)

Estrogen is rising, and so is your energy. You’ll feel more focused, social, and creative — perfect for launching new ideas or projects.

🔹 Tip: Go for light cardio, strength training & fresh foods to support your rise 🌞

💥 Ovulation Phase (Days 14–16)

This is your fertile phase — estrogen and testosterone peak, and so does your confidence 👑 You’ll feel bold, radiant, and magnetic.

🔹 Tip: Lean into strength & high-intensity workouts, and eat anti-inflammatory foods.

🌙 Luteal Phase (Days 17–28)

Progesterone rises, and your energy turns inward. You may feel tired, moody, bloated, or anxious — it’s all normal.

🔹 Tip: Choose grounding meals, get quality sleep, and try lower-impact movement like barre or Pilates.

💡Bonus Tips

• Your skin, sleep, and mood cycle with your hormones.

• PMS doesn’t mean you’re broken — it’s your body asking for support.

• Track your cycle and start syncing your life with your biology — it’s not extra, it’s essential 🧠💗

• Reminder: REST is productive. So is listening to your body.

• Cycle syncing = wellness with less burnout.

✨Start honoring your cycle, not fighting it. Your energy, workouts, nutrition, focus, and mental health all shift week by week — and that’s your superpower. 🦋

... Read moreThe menstrual cycle is a complex and intricate process that plays a vital role in women's health. During the menstrual phase (Days 1-5), the body sheds its uterine lining, and it's a time when energy levels may dip, necessitating rest and reflection. The follicular phase (Days 6-13) sees rising estrogen, resulting in increased energy and motivation, perfect for tackling new projects. Ovulation (Days 14-16) marks the peak of both estrogen and testosterone, empowering women with confidence and a magnetic presence. Finally, the luteal phase (Days 17-28) is characterized by a shift inward as progesterone rises, and some may experience PMS symptoms. Recognizing these phases can help women align their lifestyles, from workouts to dietary choices, with their hormonal changes. For optimized results, tracking your cycle via apps or journaling can foster self-awareness and facilitate proactive health management. By being attuned to your physiological changes and honoring your body's needs, you can harness the full potential of your menstrual cycle and reduce burnout in your everyday life.
