Does anyone else feel wiped out on cycle days?🫩

Today has felt like one long exhale. My cycle started yesterday and it’s like my whole body just… slowed down. Everything feels heavier than usual — my mood, my focus, even my bones a little.

I used to pretend nothing was happening and push through it, but that always made things worse. I’m finally learning that fatigue isn’t a flaw. It’s my body asking me to listen instead of fight it.

So today I’m moving gently. Warm foods, a slower pace, a little extra kindness toward myself.

It’s not perfect, but it feels better than ignoring what my body needs.

🍋Do your energy levels tank on cycle days too?

What actually helps you feel human again? I’d love to hear what works for you.

... Read moreMany people notice that fatigue and low energy levels peak around the second day of their menstrual cycle, leaving them feeling like they're moving through molasses. It's important to recognize that this isn't a flaw or weakness but rather your nervous system signaling the need for extra care and rest. Resting doesn't mean you are unproductive; on the contrary, tuning into your body's needs during cycle days prevents burnout and improves overall wellbeing. Warm foods and heat pads are popular go-to comforts because they soothe cramps and promote relaxation. Similarly, choosing products that don't irritate your skin or mood contributes to feeling steadier. Fresh air can sometimes help alleviate sluggishness by boosting oxygen flow and mood. However, as shared, some days your body may still feel like it's moving in slow motion despite these efforts. The key is gentle movement and kindness toward yourself, focusing on what truly makes you feel better rather than pushing through fatigue. Many also find that mindfulness practices, such as light stretching, meditation, or journaling, help manage mood dips and increase mental clarity. Keeping hydrated and maintaining a balanced diet with iron-rich foods can address the physical fatigue often linked to menstruation. Connecting with others who share similar experiences can be validating and helpful too, as shared in #cozychats, #cyclecomfort, and #GirlTalk communities. Hearing what works for others—whether it's a specific comfort product or a self-care routine—can inspire new strategies to handle cycle day exhaustion. In summary, cycle day fatigue is a real and valid experience. Embracing the slower pace, using warmth and gentle care, and seeking community support can transform those hard days into times of nurturing and renewal. What's your favorite way to recharge during your cycle? Sharing your tips can help others feel less alone and more supported.

I feel this so much. When my cycle starts, it’s like my whole body hits a slowdown button and everything feels heavier for a day or two. I’ve been trying to honor that instead of forcing myself to push through, and it’s helped so much. Warm food and rest truly make a difference. You’re not alone in this at all.
