TOXIC ATTACHMENTS💔

I was a victim of a 4 year toxic attachment. I knew it wasn’t the easy love , but it had its happy moments. Life luxuries , trips , outings , gifts , nd being apart of my child’s life since a baby. I was willing to settle bc all u can do is hope for something u never had. SOME Men have trauma and alot of baggage DONT let him pour that gasoline on to you. I never lived a traumatic life, but my mental trauma came from that man. FREE yourself know your worth. GO BE LOVED PROPERLY STOP FIGHTING FOR HISTORY. Not all history is GOOD! I NEVER TALK ABOUT LOVE here it is😂 “NO IT WASNT DOMESTIC AT ALL “ just full of manipulation 🫠#relationship #toxicrelationship #toxic #luxurydepression #GirlsTalk #girlsgirl #dating #Lemon8Diary #storytime #chooseyourself

... Read moreMy previous post touched on my four-year journey through a toxic attachment, a period filled with manipulation and emotional strain, despite moments of 'luxury' and false hope. It was truly a wake-up call to 'free myself of pointless toxic attachments,' as the image on my post perfectly captured. But what exactly is a toxic attachment, and why is it so incredibly hard to let go? It’s more than just a bad relationship; it's a deep-seated emotional pattern where you feel inextricably linked to someone who consistently brings you down, diminishes your self-worth, or manipulates you. For me, it wasn’t physical abuse, but the constant gaslighting, the emotional blackmail, and the way my reality was twisted left me feeling like a shadow of myself. I realized it wasn't love when the 'happy moments' felt like crumbs, and the constant anxiety overshadowed any joy. You might recognize signs like walking on eggshells, constantly seeking their approval, feeling drained after interactions, or making excuses for their behavior. The hardest part was admitting it was toxic. When you've invested so much time, especially when they're involved in your child's life, the thought of leaving feels impossible. There's a fear of the unknown, of being alone, or even a misguided sense of loyalty. I remember thinking, 'all you can do is hope for something you never had,' which kept me trapped in the cycle. But one day, something clicked. The constant emotional cost became too high. 'FREE yourself, know your worth' became my mantra. It wasn't an overnight escape; it was a gradual process of setting boundaries, seeking support from trusted friends, and slowly detaching emotionally. I had to mourn the relationship I wished I had, not the one I actually had. It’s about recognizing that some men (or women) carry their own trauma, and you’re not responsible for fixing them, especially when they're pouring that gasoline onto your flame. My journey to freedom from that toxic attachment taught me invaluable lessons. It was about rebuilding my identity, rediscovering hobbies I loved, and learning to trust my intuition again. If you're reading this and recognizing parts of your own story, please understand: you deserve a love that nourishes you, not one that drains you. Stop fighting for a 'history' that isn't good for you. Seek therapy if you can, confide in a friend, or even just start by journaling your feelings. Every small step towards prioritizing your peace is a victory. It’s about choosing yourself, choosing genuine happiness, and understanding that beautiful, healthy love is out there waiting for you. Don't let anyone dim your light.
