京都駅で「京料理を食べたいけど、時間も予算も限られてる…」という日に助かったのが、京都駅直結の地下街ポルタにある「京料理 萬重 ポルタ店」。改札から雨に濡れずに行けるので、観光の合間や出張のスキマ時間にもかなり便利でした。 私が選んだのは写真でもよく見かける萬重弁当「華」。運ばれてきた瞬間、まず“品数の多さ”と“盛り付けのきれいさ”にテンションが上がります。お造り、煮物、焼き物、だし巻きに加えて、京生麩2種の田楽、さらに土瓶蒸しまで付くのがうれしいポイント。特に田楽はふわふわ＆もちもちで、甘めの味噌がしっかり絡んで「京料理ってこういう優しい味だよね」としみじみ。 土瓶蒸しは、ふたを開けたときのだしの香りがごちそう。きのこや野菜の旨みが溶けていて、食事の途中でほっと一息つける存在でした。全体的に味付けは上品で濃すぎず、最後まで飽きずに食べられます。 これから行く人向けのメモとしては、①京都駅周辺で“京都駅 京料理”を探している人、②老舗っぽい京料理をランチ・ディナーどちらでも手軽に食べたい人、③「萬重 小庵 京都ポルタ」の雰囲気や写真が気になっている人におすすめ。暖簾に「京料理」「萬重（まんしげ）」と書かれていて、駅ナカでも落ち着いた空気感でした。 注文に迷ったら、まずは人気の萬重弁当「華」から入るのが無難だと思います。品数が多いので“ちょっとずつ色々食べたい派”に刺さりますし、初めてでも京料理の要素（お造り・煮物・焼魚・生麩・だし系）が一通り楽しめました。 ちなみに、観光で時間が読めない日は「駅直結」の強みが大きいです。新幹線の前後でも動きやすいので、次の予定が詰まっているときほどありがたさを実感しました。
