Orange Peel + Pine Needle Vinegar Cleaner🍊🌲

Orange Peel + Pine Needle Vinegar Cleaner

(So Simple + Cozy) 🍊🌲

Ingredients:

• White vinegar

• Orange peels

• Pine needles (fresh or dried)

Optional:

• Cinnamon stick

• Essential oils (lemon or pine are great)

The orange peels help mellow the strong vinegar smell, and the pine adds a fresh, woodsy scent, no harsh chemical vibes here.

How to Make:

Place your orange peels and pine needles into a clean mason jar. (If you’re saving peels, you can store them in the freezer until you have enough.)

Pour white vinegar over the top, making sure everything is fully submerged to prevent mold.

Optional: add a cinnamon stick for a warm, cozy note.

Seal the jar and store it in a dark place for about 3 weeks.

The longer it sits, the more potent the cleaner becomes.

After 3 weeks, strain the mixture through cheesecloth into a spray bottle.

Dilute 50/50 vinegar to water (adjust stronger or lighter depending on preference).

Add a few drops of essential oil if you’d like.

And that’s it! Your orange + pine vinegar cleaner is ready to use.

Works Great On:

• Stovetops (seriously amazing)

• Bathrooms- glass shower doors, faucets, tiles, toilets

• Tile floors

• Glass & mirrors

• Kitchen surfaces

Note:

Always spot test on new or delicate surfaces and do your own research to be sure it’s safe for your home.

... Read moreI'm always looking for ways to reduce chemicals in my home, and discovering how easy it is to make an orange peel and pine needle vinegar cleaner has been a game-changer! Not only is it incredibly cost-effective, but the natural pine orange scent is so much more pleasant than harsh chemical fumes. Plus, knowing exactly what goes into my homemade cleaner gives me peace of mind. When I first started, I wondered about the best type of vinegar. Regular distilled white vinegar is perfect because it's strong enough to extract the oils and scents from the peels and needles without leaving residue. For the orange peels, any citrus works – lemon, grapefruit, or even lime can be fantastic. I usually collect mine over a few days and store them in the freezer until I have enough to fill my infusion jar. For the pine needles, fresh is best if you can find them safely, but dried ones work too. Just make sure they're clean and free from any sap or debris. One crucial tip I learned is to really pack your jar with the peels and needles. The more you have, the stronger and more fragrant your cleaner will be. And remember to keep everything fully submerged in the vinegar to prevent any mold from forming – that's key for a successful infusion! While the article suggests 3 weeks, I've sometimes let mine steep for up to a month for an extra potent clean. It's truly an orange peel vinegar infusion that gets better with time, developing a deeper, more complex aroma. Once strained, transferring it to a spray bottle makes it super convenient for daily use. I keep one under the sink and another in the bathroom. For a general natural cleaner spray, I dilute it 50/50 with water, but for tougher spots like soap scum in the shower or baked-on grease on the stovetop, I'll use a slightly stronger solution. Just remember that vinegar is acidic, so always do a quick spot test on delicate surfaces like natural stone (marble, granite) or unsealed grout to be safe. It's fantastic for glass and mirrors, leaving them streak-free with that lovely pine orange scent without any sticky residue. Thinking about other additions? Besides cinnamon, I’ve experimented with rosemary sprigs or a few drops of eucalyptus essential oil for a different aromatic twist. The beauty of this DIY orange peel vinegar cleaner is its versatility. It's not just for cleaning; some people even use diluted versions as a natural fabric softener rinse (though I haven't personally tried that yet!). If you're looking for an effective, eco-friendly, and pleasantly scented homemade cleaning solution, this orange peel vinegar cleaner jar method is definitely worth trying. It's become a staple in my routine for a fresh, clean, and chemical-free home!
