TW “Just Walk Away.” Let’s Talk: Domestic Violence

#safespace

People always thought I was happy, in the perfect relationship, etc. If they only knew what happened behind the scenes….

I’ve been nearly strangled to death, had teeth cracked in half, my head split open so badly I needed stitches, etc.

I can’t tell you how often I hear people saying, “why didn’t you just walk away?” It’s something I wish on no one, but it is hard to understand unless you’ve been through it. It doesn’t just mean physical abuse-the psychological, emotional, verbal abuse is almost worse.

This is a sensitive, triggering topic for people. But please reach out, comment, and follow if you want me to discuss more. Or if you need help.

... Read moreDomestic violence is a multifaceted issue that extends beyond just physical abuse. Many victims face psychological manipulation, emotional torment, and verbal aggression, all of which can leave lasting scars. Understanding the dynamics of such relationships is vital for providing support and fostering healing. Statistics indicate that millions of individuals experience some form of domestic violence in their lifetime, yet many suffer in silence due to stigma and the belief that they are alone. To effectively help those in abusive situations, it’s important to recognize the signs that someone may be in danger. These can include changes in behavior, withdrawal from friends and family, and unexplained injuries. Encouraging open conversations about these topics can help break down barriers and encourage victims to seek assistance. Organizations and hotlines provide valuable resources for anyone looking to escape these toxic environments or simply needing someone to talk to. Remember, you are not alone, and support is available.

I don't know if you are in counseling or not, but it really did help me and it may help you if you are open to it. Praying for your positive outcome in your life! ❤️

I know it's hard because with the physical abuse comes mental abuse. And they get in your head and manipulate, brainwash and control you, but you have to find a way to break free of it before you wind up dead. This is not what love is all about. Love should never hurt, or belittle you. Please leave before it's too late
